Notes: This German edition of Bellin's map of Goree which was first engraved by Jan van Schley is the engraver of the maps (by J.N. Bellin) and views in the Dutch edition of A.F. Preost d' Exile's 'Histoire General des Voyages'. A plan of the island of Goree off the coast of Guinea. From here the slaves were shipped to the Americas; Originally published in Abbe Prevost's "Histoire generale des voyages." (1746 -1789), with maps and plans by the great cartographer Jacques-Nicolas Bellin, this a German edition from "Allgemeine Historie der Reisen." published in 1748.
