Notes: Pending acquisition, Jonathan Potter 2012; With the banner "Builders Of Our New Colony", this map of Transvaal and the new Orange Free State is decorated with portraits of senior army figures of the day: Lord Kitchener, General French, General Macdonald, Lord Roberts, Sir Redvers Buller, Sir George White and Colonel Baden-Powell. The map extends inland from today's Maputo and Durban to include Pretoria and Kimberley, and marks the sites of many of the battles of the Boer Wars immediately preceding the incorporation of Transvaal into the British Empire in 1902. One stain on the border of Basutoland and the Cape Colony.
