Notes: rare map of Africa carried out and published by the printer and publisher Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi designed the famous Dutch cartographer William Blaew . Second edition , of which there are a small number of specimens (4 ? ) , The first edition was published by the same publisher De Rossi in 1670 and if they know 3 copies of which one at the BNF ( National Library of France ), and 1 to the Library Vatican . The table in question was published together with 3 other representing the continents , all very rare since they will be exposed to the public already in their time for the prestige conferred to the owners , it therefore suffered degradation from which the rarity of surviving examples . The family of publishers De Rossi has been the most prolific in Italy in the seventeenth century in the publication of maps, prints , giving the famous Mercury Geographic atlas . Specimen in good condition, small margins (7-8 mm) present on all sides ; slight staining but to a certain extent at the bottom right , otherwise the table nicely engraved and preserved.
