Notes: [PENDING ARRIVAL POTTER] An immensely detailed map showing the reporter/explorer's expeditions between 1867 - 1889. Kingdoms, states and areas are clearly delineated with the routes and dates of his journeys. To the verso there is 'a complete resumé of the great explorer's travels and discoveries, by E. G. Ravenstein'. Born in Wales, Stanley is best known for his part in tracing Dr Livingstone whilst a reporter for the New York Herald. A rather fragile example but nonetheless fascinating and rare. region: Maps of Northern Africa
