Notes: [JOPPEN]; Separately published copper engraving c. 1683--1685, Betz #130; A rare map of the African continent by Johannes de Ram (1648-1693), after de Wit's map of 1660--1670 without the side panels but with new and decorative cartouche. With privilege 'Cum Privilegio Ordinum Hollandiae et Westfrisiae'. De Ram was a Dutch engraver, globe maker, publisher and art dealer in Amsterdam. Apart from re-issuing maps by other makers, he also produced his own maps. In 1689, he acquired the Blaeu publishing company.
