The address for the A.B.C.F.M., American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions is printed under the title as 1 Somerset St. Boston. It was the first and largest such organization, created in 1810 by recent graduates of Williams College; This was inspired by the 'second great awakening'. In 1806, five students from Williams College in western Massachusetts took shelter from a strom in a haystack. At the 'Haystack Prayer Meeting, they came to the common conviction that 'the field is the world' and inspired the creation of the AABCFM four years later. It was Congregationalist in origin, eventually accepting missionaries from Presbyterian and Dutch-Reform Churches sending missionaries throughout the world, including India, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa......The map also contains smaller inset maps of East Central African Mission, West Central Africa, and Natal stations of A.B.C.F.M.;
