Notes: | Swaen source] scarce map of Guinea published by Antoine de Fer in 1661 or 1662 in "Cartes de geographie revues et augmentees". With number 13 in lower right bottom of the map. The series of maps is largely derived from those of Jean Boisseau's "Tresor des cartes", 1643, itself taken from Johannes Janssonius' "Atlas Minor", 1628. The plates appear to have passed into the possession of Antoine de Fer, who with the authorship of Pierre Duval, published the "Carte de geographie" in 1657. For this edition some alteration were made to the plate. There were later editions appearing in both 1661 and 1662. |
