Notes: [Pahor, Johnson source] The map, based on the draft by the scientist and vulcanologist Jean Baptiste Genevi?e Marcelin Bory De Saint-Vincent (1778-1846) was published in 1811, a year after the French surrendered the island to Great Britain. Under the British the island was renamed to Mauritius. The map was probably copied after a 1809 map with the same title, published in Weimar by the Geographical Institute.
