Notes: [Curtis Wright source] This finely detailed physiographic map of Africa was designed by the talented cartographer A.K. Lobeck in 1946, while he served as a Professor of Geography at Columbia University. Prior to that, Lobeck had worked at the University of Wisconsin and for the Army Map Service during World War II. Skillful illustration represents the diverse geographic features across the continent, while inset maps and profile views provide further information on the composition of specific regions. The top portion of the sheet contains descriptive text further outlining these various regions and systems.
